Chakra Balancing for Health & Wellness
Chakras are important for our physical health because they are connected to our organs, emotions, and physical functions, and act as energy centers throughout the body. The chakras help communicate with the organs through feelings. Our organs are a representation of the energy flow throughout the body and one’s unique energy field. When our feelings are imbalanced, it can affect the functioning of our organs and lead to health issues. By understanding the connection between our emotions, feelings, and physical health, we can take steps to improve our overall well-being by doing a bit of Chakra balancing.
Have you ever felt a knot in your stomach when you're nervous or a tightness in your chest when you're feeling sad? These physical sensations and they way you respond to these feelings and sensations can directly impact your state of health.
Chakras are energy centers in the body along the same line as the spine. When our emotions and feelings are out of balance, it can affect the functioning of our associated organs and physical health. Whereas, healthy feeling states are associated with optimal functioning of the physical body and organs. For example, a healthy root chakra, associated with the elimination organs, is characterized by feelings of stability and grounding. When the root chakra is balanced, the physical body's elimination functions are optimized and the person feels a strong sense of security. On the other hand, an imbalanced root chakra may result in feelings of insecurity or fear and can manifest as physical issues such as digestive problems or a weakened immune system.
The seven chakras and the associated emotions and organs:
The chakra system is composed of seven main chakras throughout the body, corresponding to seven main energy centers in the human body. Each main chakra has its own personal power, as talked about below.
Root Chakra (Muladhara) - This chakra is associated with the elimination organs and is linked to feelings of stability and security. When the root chakra is balanced, you feel grounded and confident. When it's imbalanced, you may feel anxious or fearful.
Sacral Chakra (Svadhishthana) - The sacral chakra is associated with the reproductive organs and is linked to feelings of creativity, sexuality, and passion. When the sacral chakra is balanced, you feel confident and sensual. When it's imbalanced, you may feel ashamed or repressed.
Navel Chakra or Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) - This third chakra is associated with the digestive organs and is linked to feelings of confidence, power, and self-esteem and is sometimes called the solar plexus chakra. When the navel chakra is balanced, you feel proud and assertive. When it's imbalanced, you may feel nervous or uncertain.
Heart Chakra (Anahata) - This chakra is associated with the immune system and is linked to feelings of love, compassion, and forgiveness. When the heart chakra is balanced, you feel loving and empathetic. When it's imbalanced, you may feel grief or anger.
Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) - The throat chakra is associated with the lungs and is linked to feelings of communication, expression, and creativity. When the throat chakra is balanced, you feel confident and expressive. When it's imbalanced, you may feel shy or unable to communicate effectively.
Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) - This chakra is associated with the mid-brain and is linked to feelings of intuition, perception, and imagination. When the third eye chakra is balanced, you feel intuitive and imaginative. When it's imbalanced, you may feel unsure or skeptical.
Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) - This chakra is associated with the neocortex and is linked to feelings of enlightenment, awareness, and consciousness. When the crown chakra is balanced, you feel enlightened and conscious. When it's imbalanced, you may feel disconnected or unaware.
Understanding the connection between your emotions, feelings, and physical health can help you identify areas where you may be blocking your energy flow and leading to imbalances in your physical body and health. Now that you understand the connection between the chakras, feelings, and physical health, you can take steps to empower your health and well-being.

Sometimes, we need to correct our thoughts and beliefs to support our feeling state and ultimately our physical health. In fact, the root cause of most physical health issues is not actually rooted in the physical body, but rather an imbalance on the emotional or mental level.
You can start by becoming more aware of your emotional state and how it may be impacting your physical health as well as attempting some individual chakra balancing. Pay attention to how you feel throughout the day and try to identify any patterns or connections between your emotions and physical symptoms. By taking a holistic approach to your health, you can empower yourself to create balance and optimal functioning in all areas of your health and life.
